Web 2.0 through blogging
Web 2.0 through blogging.
Of late the in trendy rave is all about 'blogging'. Just about everyone has a blog, or reads other people's blog. Its the new way of connection, the latest 'cool' and fast option to update ourselves with each other's lives.
Not only does it serve as an online diary, blogging platforms are also utilized as a site for information exchange, social network, advertisements and campaign movements. Bloggers have the ultimate freedom to pen down just about anything that comes to mind without constraint. The ability to remain anonymous while blogging gives them the ability to also touch on sensitive topics that ought to be heard and remain undetected, safe from prosecution. Somewhat.
There are influential bloggers even within Malaysia. One of which whom I highly admire - Kenny Sia who blogs at www.kennysia.com. His blog is so well received in and out of Malaysia. With a cynically sarcastic personality, he takes on current local issues with a very mock Malaysian attitude that is both funny and eye opening at the same time. Kenny Sia is almost like a local celebrity. Only through blogging and the occasional usage of YouTube for his video blogs, Kenny Sia holds the ability to influence the Malaysian society and their thinking.
