Marketing seminar

On Friday morning Mr. Avila dragged everyone from ComTech back to college to sit for a short 2 hour seminar on.......Marketing.

Marketing???

Why were we listening to a seminar about Marketing when by right we are ComTech students? O__O''', well we finally found out during the very end of the seminar, but it was puzzling during the entire course of the seminar. Yes. I am aware that to a certain degree ComTech can be used for Marketing, vice versa of course. Even so.... I didn't think it was relevant at this point. Not especially when our guest speaker seemed to have us as Marketing students in mind, therefore focused entirely on Marketing? haha~

Nevertheless, I enjoyed it very much. It was inspirational and thought provoking. I'd say it was a Friday morning well spent because it didn't matter that I had to wake up just as early and just as dead on a Friday morning to drive all the way to college. It didn't matter that I got drenched in heavy rain to get to college. (Honestly after looking at a very dripping wet BK I shouldn't be complaining at all). It didn't matter that I couldn't find Audi 2 for ages.

I think Marketing is a pretty interesting course. I especially liked the Advertising portion of Marketing. I have always held interest in Advertising, even though I am pretty inapt at it. At one point I was actually weighing my decisions as to major into advertising, or language. The fact that I'm currently pursuing my studies in Sunway proves that I am going to continue with language.

And I'm going to succeed in this!! I will further my studies in Language until I graduate with a Masters and then travel all around the world. First stop will be Japan (a place I shall always regard as my 2nd home), then Switzerland (cause chocolate there is good), then to all the Disneylands in the world!!!!

Alright. A little straying off there. Haha. Back to the subject at hand.... It isn't just the advertisements on television, but the creativity of advertising that is expanded to using anything possible as a form of advertisement. Sponsorships, floor designs, body adverts, through the web. Fancy roadshows. I find it so intriguing and amazingly unique. The ideas can be so ingenious!

A vacuum cleaner billboard =D

Indeed it takes both common sense and creativity to pull it through. Common sense I have, creativity, not quite.

I look forward to our final projects, even though I know it will most probably be stressful. =D

With this post I shall add one of my favorite controversial commercial of the Pepsi Vs. Cola war that is actually banned. Click here to watch. (I'm a Pepsi supporter btw)
