Insomnia?
Current Mood : Sickly
Currently listening To: Scream - Exile X Glay
I feel groggy.
All those mandarin oranges..... oooh gawds I think I may have mandarin orange phobia now. I wonder if there is a term for it. I tried Googling my curiosity out, but so far the nearest I got to fear of oranges is "esperidoeidiphobia", which is actually the fear of citrus fruit. Aww... but I still like lemon and grapes! Let this be a stern reminder to myself that gambling with mandarin oranges is suicidal. 8DDD
Due to my stomach pangs as a result of tangerine overdose I had to skip the entire day of college today. I was worried about driving, didn't think it was worth having an accident mishap on the way to college in such a shitty shape. Now. I feel. so. left behind. Not to mention ridden with guilt.
This added with my current insomniac situation isn't exactly a pretty sight to behold. So now I had to figure out why I couldn't sleep peacefully too. Let us all hail Google for my discovery. I came across an online article : Your Cellphone May Be What's Keeping You Up At Night by Gina Hughes. Yes because I too sleep with my cellphone by my side from time to time. More often lately due to personal reasons - my alarm clock has busted and I needed a temporary replacement. 8D
According to the news article, some unknown Universities which name shall constantly elude my memory has done some research and concluded that the radiation from your handset can cause insomnia, headaches, and prevent you from going into a deep sleep. (Hughes) This discovery thus led the researchers to believe that the radiation emitted disrupts the body's ability to produce melatoninWhatever that is, bet its not good news anyway and activates the brain's stress system, making your more alert throughout the night. (Hughes)
It is also recommended that one avoid talking on the cellphone at least one hour before going to bed.
But how is that possible? Let's say if I receive an urgent call late at night when I am already sleepy.... does that mean I have to force myself to stay awake for another hour before heading to slumberland? Then what's the point since either way I won't be able to sleep anyway.
I wonder if my cellphone, this tiny little harmless looking gadget, could be the cause of my sleepless nights? It's hard to believe really. Then again, why not? If you can believe invisible looking microorganisms such as virus can cause Cancer and eventually death, why can't you believe that cellphones can cause sleepless nights and eventually death too =________=;;
