Currently listening To: Realize - Colbie Caillat

At first I thought I had 30 posts, so I was overjoyed and over the moon about it. Then, because I have this crazy habit of re-reading my blog posts from time to time, I checked just to make sure.

I had one draft post which contained basically nothing which I totally forgot about it since I think it was automatically saved one of those days when I tried to blog in class but was naturally (obviously) distracted by other things that demanded my attention more. Like fighting/arguing/throwing sarcasm at B.K. =)

So boo hoo. I need another post.

Which is really disappointing because I thought I had done better. Ah well.

Today I strive to be positively happy where nothing shitty can get into my way and make me down howsoever. It is a beautiful Saturday where the sun is not that hot, it's not raining storms again...yet. The weather is perfect! So I want my Saturday to be perfect too. Since it's been such a turmoil of emotional events the last few days.

I hate my own internal conflicts.

It's amazing how long I can stay angry at myself =/ I was angry because I know I was being selfish in many ways towards other people, even though it was just in thoughts. Which I feel even more guilty of because people will then think I'm all good and accepting but they don't know what goes on in my head, which can be totally nasty and selfish. And I don't want to ever behave like that anymore, because I should learn to be a better and more accepting person. I can help it, so I will. I just need someone to slap me whenever I fall back into that state of mind again. =X

On another note. It's so cool to fool around with GoogleMap. It's like Google Earth, but it uses the map format instead. I think I just found my house!!!! oooh And my old secondary school, where I used to live in Port Dickson, Ipoh and old house in KL!!! Oh and where I buried my dog too..... wow cool even the school I went to in Japan for a year. XD

But of course I will not post it here, was tempted to at first however have now decided against it as it is better for my safety. I mean, I suppose that is the smartest thing to do, like who the hell would post his/her exact location on the internet readily available for sickos to track and stalk down?

Then since it's a map, I can look it up easily on any given day before travelling to unknown places. I could probably find my way better with the help of advance visualization. It's amazing how I didn't think of this sooner, it's so helpful! The details of KL is so amazing! Oh I found SYUC already.

That's neat.

typing skill

Current Mood : Awake
Currently listening To: Worst Pie in London - Sweeney Todd

I am addicted to Sweeney Todd's musical! Its been looping in my iTunes quite frequently lately because I do love dark humor =)

And just because I am in a good mood today I'll admit it's also because I like Johny Depp very much too. His singing is pretty good actually, just don't understand why other people insists otherwise.

So like yes now our newsletter is finally off our backs and I have had the pleasure to relax a long and well deserved weekend. Its been a rather interesting experience as I have learned a great deal from the project, like how to better utilize Microsoft Publisher. And great timing too! Because I have now been entrusted to the production of the Ed Board's newsletter which should be done asap and with a better knowledge of Microsoft Publisher it should be alright plus I have a great helper who is way more efficient than I am....but knowing my slacking abilities....... ahhhh... I am going to start on the first few pages tonight!!!

I will cancel my plans tonight and hog the laptop and get it done or I shall not sleep in peace.

After surfing blogs around the TGJ4M blogsphere looking for inspiration and chancing upon Cherry's blog post about typing speed I decided to take the trial test and see how I fared. Needless to say that my typing skill is a calamity. I can type fast yes, but I cannot type fast AND accurately at the same time. Despite typing almost all my life (or since I was 14 to be more or less exact) I still have the tendency to forget where certain keys are located. The odd part is I only forget when I am forced to locate the key individually.

Maybe that is why I totally screwed up the typing game. =<

So what I did was download the trial version and am currently undergoing a freshie's course on how to type properly 8D (I just hope I have the patience to do everything from scratch again, I so hate doing a noob's work)

Then nobody can make fun of the typos I make online anymore. Because I do it oh-so-frequently I've been poked fun of on many occasions. How undeniable cruel and evil =(

omgvids

Current Mood : sleepy
Currently listening To: No Place Like London - Sweeney Todd

I can't believe the amount of rubbish videos I forced myself through just to find something nice and worthy of a blog post. I could probably think of a million better things to do right now, but I guess it was pretty worth it in the end.

At least. It better be.

This time I decided to try something new, a website called omgvids.com. Working similarly along the lines of Youtube, omgvids provides videos that supposedly compells people to go, well, omg. I guess. It has some pretty awesome videos in store. Some awesomely dumb and retarded, some an awesomely waste of time. However there are some rather gem-like quality videos that I thought was worth my attention.

There's one I found highly intriguing, where a female leopard babysits and play surrogate mother to a baby baboon. A clip from a National Geography documentary, the video shows how a vicious predatory big cat's maternal instincts reaches out to protect even it's natural enemy. So unreal. But it makes you think again that in this world anything is possible. Love and compassion really does go round.

If even natural enemies could have compromises and strange bondings such as that in the video (albeit rarely), it's probably possible for world peace too. No more wars and stuff. Haha maybe that's a little too far to percieve by just one video, but that's what I strongly believe. =) Yay me.

Here's another. Got a Smiling Addiction? is a music video with a community message. Makes you realize that in today's world we're really abusing our smileys. I know I do... cause I use them all the time for most occasions. So much so that it's become second nature to me.

If you read my blog long enough you'd notice anyway. it's everywhere! But the real topic is the smiling smiley..... this one =)

I would put smilies in online conversations even when I don't feel like smiling, or when all I want to do is beat the crap out of the other person I'm having the conversation with. I'm sure many of us does the same from time to time. Smileys tends to make people think everything is okay. This movie depicts how we always show people things are just fine by putting up a fake front, and bottle up our depression. Why, because honestly nobody wants to know your problems I guess. Asking how are you has become only a polite gesture.... their smileys are but a sign of politeness, to show that they 'sort-of care' when really they couldn't be bothered.

Ah... I think I'm going to suffer depression after thinking about this any longer. =<

Oh. And I just found out that most vids on omgvids.com you can find on Youtube anyway. Well not really a huge surprise there.... it's just that I find videos load faster in omgvids.com compared to YouTube.

Oh God, please bestow me, Your humble servant great skills and brilliant ideas to blog about for TGJ4M T_____T (seriously, she really needs it~)

Hmm...so lets see..what did we do today in class?

We had self assessment session where we filled in a long list of items describing our general attitude and behavior. It was meant to be a personal task just to assess how self directed we were in achieving goals and tasks. After going through the list I am now pretty convinced that I have not much sense of direction. And also that I'm more of the solitary working type than anything. I honestly believe I'm more of the go with the flow type of person, and somehow that works for me.

because I have this uncanny ability to misinterpret directions and commands all the time

Admittedly, I would say that I am actually the type that is close to detesting team/group work. I may not show it on the outside, as I am quite able to coop with handling group works. More often than not I feel inclined to take the lead, because I want things to be done right under the appropriate time-frame. Sometimes I get it right, sometimes I don't. Usually because I am too soft, easily a pushover. Afraid to offend people I know I still have to face even after the assignments are done. Oh yes I am as cowardly as cowards can possibly shrink into.

Hence, I do not particularly enjoy team working.

It's just a flawed mindset that I'm still trying to work on my part =/ Try as I might to escape it in college life, it's obvious that I can't run away from participating in group work in the future as I enter the work force.

Unless I take desperate measures and live as a hermit 8D

However I'm glad to note that for our latest TGJ4M project, the newsletter production worked out better than I thought it would have. Sure there were some kinks here and there, times where members failed to perform (that includes me as well, much as I am ashamed to admit) but I am well pleased that our group project turned out right. It was fun working with my two mates, talking our heads of about all sorts of possibilities we can achieve with the newsletter and making it a reality was fresh and fun, and therefore I probably won't mind collaborating with them again in future assignments.

Which is why I tried to be as just and fair when writing in my project log for this newsletter. Especially the giving peer assessment portion. Had to take some time to seriously ponder it through because there is the need to give credit where credit is due.... I hope in return my mates have taken the effort to think it wisely before assessing me. =)
